Alternative to Bleach

Comparison of Cleanitise All Surface Cleaner and Hypochlorite (Bleach) on disinfection of surfaces

Cleanitise All Purpose Surface Cleaner, Sanitiser and Degreaser has been tested for antimicrobial efficacy against a wide range of bacteria yeast and moulds using standard EU protocols in this laboratory. It has been found to be extremely effective when diluted to 10% volume in hard water giving a total kill after five minutes, with an initial inoculum of greater than 100 million (108) micro-organisms per millilitre of test suspension.

Sodium hypochlorite solution or bleach has similarly been tested at levels of 20 – 50ppm free chlorine with similar results. However hypochlorite solutions are very susceptible to organic load and even small amounts of soil on the surface will neutralise some of the free chlorine making it less effective. In addition bleach acts instantly but the chlorine very quickly evaporates off into the atmosphere and there is no residual activity after the initial kill.

Cleanitise on the other hand not only has this aggressive activity on micro-organisms but has also been shown to have a residual effect on surfaces for several hours after application and this will help to reduce the recolonisation of surfaces and hence the spread of organisms in the immediate environment.
